From Seed to Salad
Students explore requirements for plant growth and the production and processing steps to get from a seed to a food product (lettuce, radish or sprout). Students design and produce an environment for the production of a lettuce, radish or sprout seedling for planting in the school vegetable garden. Students also sequence the steps in making a nutritious salad filling for a sandwich, wrap or roll and prepare a salad filling for healthy eating and service in the school canteen.
