Producing the pigs that produce the bacon

This unit encourages students investigate how all pigs are produced in indoor production systems, in which all pigs are fully housed. Students explore how pig farmers produce pigs and the systems they use, including how water and energy use can be reduced on-site and whether wastes can be reused, recycled and used sustainably. Students design and produce a preferred system and environment that produces pigs.
